Responsible for accurate patient identification, specimen integrity, and sample labeling. Interacts with customers in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner. Additional duties include receipt of samples in Laboratory Information System and processing of samples in Central Processing. May also assist in clerical duties of the department, training new employees, and teaching phlebotomy students. **Schedule**Generally scheduled Monday-Friday 830A-5P 1. Demonstrates competency of phlebotomy skills and techniques including venipuncture, blood cultures and special collections on an annual basis.2. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence consistent with hospital-wide and department specific standards.3. Greets, identifies, and interacts with all patients in a courteous and confidential manner. Responds to patients with empathy and positive interpersonaJ skills while considering physical, psychological, spiritual, and educational issues.4.
