South Shore Health in Norwell, MA, is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join the SMC Phlebotomy team. You will perform phlebotomy procedures, label specimens, and support patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Under supervision you will maintain accurate records, help with STAT draws, and assist in training new staff while following safety and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of full-time phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certification from National Phlebotomy Association preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) according to established procedures.
• Identifies patients and labels specimens correctly.
• Prioritizes STAT draws and ensures timely transport to laboratory.
• Operates computerized systems for order entry and labeling.
• Maintains organized work area and completes workload statistics.
• Assists coworkers and communicates with labs to ensure smooth workflow.
• Trains new employees and student interns as needed.
• Adheres to safety, PPE, and infection control policies.
• Acts as receptionist when needed and answers phones professionally.
• Maintains cleanliness of phlebotomy areas and stock levels.
