Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist to join the Inpatient Lab Team. You will obtain in-house blood specimens, process specimens for clinical analysis, and provide patient information to the appropriate caregiver.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, and processing orders in a fast-paced, supportive environment. 40 hours per week, day shift with weekend and rotating holidays; high school diploma and phlebotomy training required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; completion of phlebotomy training program.
• Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture.
• Labels specimens following laboratory policy.
• Receives/cancels orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens.
