Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process patient specimens on the night shift at FMC Main Campus. Duties include venous and capillary collections, specimen processing, and support for outpatient locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus phlebotomy training and interest in certification. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; flexibility for community events and clerical tasks is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of certification eligible phlebotomy program or employer-sponsored training.
• National phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect venous and capillary specimens following FMC policy.
• Provide staff support for outpatient collection locations as needed.
• Enter orders and process specimens to ensure sample integrity.
• Perform EKGs, culture collections, BATs and Chain-of-Custody collections as needed.
• Collect specimens for Nursing home and FMC community events as needed.
• Maintain competency and ongoing education for the position.
• Provide customer service and complete clerical tasks as assigned.
