Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist/Laboratory Assistant to join our Laboratory team. This 3rd shift role performs venipuncture, specimen processing, and waived testing, supporting microbiology workflows and LIS entries, while prioritizing patient safety and accurate specimen handling.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification, with preferred lab experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in a clinical or hospital lab is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• Knowledge of biosafety and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens from patients using venipuncture or micro-puncture.
• Plate specimens for microbiology and prepare samples for analysis.
• Input reference laboratory results into LIS.
• Perform waived tests as allowed by CLIA.
• Maintain patient safety and accurate labeling of specimens.
