Top Echelon LLC in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment with potential for permanent hire. Location is Silver Spring, MD, with a M-F schedule from 8am to 4:00pm.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient information. The role requires at least 1 year of experience and a valid phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• Experience performing venipunctures in fast-paced lab or hospital settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles as required.
• Understand physicians’ orders and ensure 100% accuracy with requisitions.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries by telephone and relay laboratory results as needed.
