Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens, centrifuge and store specimens as required.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination; update patient information as needed.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles as appropriate.
• Interpret physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and temperature control.
• Comply with OSHA and regulatory standards; attend annual trainings.
• Answer phones and relay laboratory results to inquiries.
