Qualifikationen

• Venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED; valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state.

Aufgaben

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands physicians' orders and matches requisitions to specimens.
• Labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required by test orders.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity per protocol.
• Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations and attends annual trainings.
• Answering telephone calls and satisfying inquiries through lab results.
