Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting in Owasso, OK is seeking a Phlebotomist (Code 6029) for a contract role with potential to become permanent. Schedule Mon–Fri 7:00 am–3:30 pm; duration about 3 months with potential for extension.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and ensuring proper handling and documentation of samples. Must hold a valid state phlebotomy certification and have at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
