Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Rockville, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm plus every other Sat 8am-12pm. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, and ensuring proper handling of samples. Minimum 2 years of experience required.

The role requires phlebotomy certification and a High School Diploma or GED. Benefits are available. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in phlebotomy or a fast-paced lab/hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment where required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and ensure accuracy on requisitions and labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required conditions.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries.
