Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Phlebotomist on a contract basis. Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a projected duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

The role involves blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining specimens per protocol. Ideal candidates have a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure test requisitions match; label, centrifuge, and store specimens as required.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
