Qualifications

• Experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with labeling, centrifuging, and recording maintenance data for specimens.
• Commitment to patient care and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing venipunctures, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate procedure techniques with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol to maintain integrity.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
