Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist - PRN to collect, process, and deliver specimens for diagnostic testing. You will maintain phlebotomy trays and outpatient draw stations, ensuring cleanliness and proper restocking of supplies.

The role requires basic math and strong communication skills; a current BLS/CPR card and color blind test within 30 days of hire are required, with a preferred passing of Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current BLS/CPR card within 30 days of hire.
• Must complete color blind test within 30 days of hire.
• One year related experience or training (preferred).
• Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly dispose of used sharps and other bio-hazardous waste.
• Collect, process, and deliver specimens to appropriate section of the Laboratory for testing.
• Maintain phlebotomy trays and outpatient draw station (restocking supplies, cleanliness, etc.).
• Function performed affects populations ages newborn through geriatric.
• Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
• Abide by PHI privacy and security regulations.
• Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.
