Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient at collection time and labels specimens in the patient’s presence.
• Performs routine and advanced venipuncture using standard precautions.
• Collects capillary samples for various age groups, including pediatrics and elderly.
• Communicates instructions for blood and non-blood specimen collection and handling.
• Verifies orders, documents collections, and retrieves work lists.
• Prepares specimens, operates centrifuges, aliquots samples, and documents tests.
• Ensures timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory and maintains sample quality.
