Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Ability to perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
• Proficient labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing, and storing specimens as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and specimen collections using approved venipuncture techniques.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients in a courteous manner.
• Collect, label, and store specimens per test requirements.
• Verify accuracy of test orders and labels before processing.
• Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and in appropriate containers.
• Maintain accurate records of data and decontamination activities.
• Update patient information per protocols.
• Follow physicians' orders for proper specimen collection and testing.
• Comply with OSHA and safety guidelines for specimen handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and support compliant operations.
• Provide professional, respectful patient care to diverse individuals.
