Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Irving, TX75038. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
The responsibilities for this role include various essential tasks such as performing venipuncture and specimen collection. The candidate will be expected to collect blood from patients using both venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques, while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Additionally, they will process and prepare specimens for testing and transport, troubleshoot any issues related to specimen collection, and provide proper patient instructions for various collection methods, such as urine collection. Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for instructing patients on post-phlebotomy care, properly disposing of hazardous and sharp materials, and obtaining specimens for microbiology testing. It is crucial that they adhere to the standard operating procedures, including the positive identification of all patient specimens and performing both waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing.
