Job summary

Valley Health System in Las Vegas is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures and specimen collections, with thorough knowledge of testing and collection requirements and moderate supervision. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a phlebotomy training program, and basic computer skills; certification is required on hire, with LPN or EMT licenses acceptable substitutes.

Prior lab assistant or phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Job Description:

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Acceptable phlebotomy training program.

Technical Skills:

Basic computer knowlege required.

License/Certification:

Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted for certification). Licensed Practical Nurse, License Advanced EMT and Licensed Paramedic are also accepted. If national certification then Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with the State of Nevada within 6 months of hire.

Other:

Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set.
