Job summary

The Valley Health System in Southern Nevada seeks a phlebotomy professional to perform venipuncture and specimen collection within its integrated network. You will work under moderate supervision and ensure proper testing and collection requirements are followed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have a phlebotomy training program, and hold certification upon hire. Nevada licensure within 6 months is expected if nationally certified.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; acceptable phlebotomy training program.
• Phlebotomy certification required upon hire; Licensed Practical Nurse, Advanced EMT and Licensed Paramedic also accepted with substitutions.
• National certification requires Nevada licensure within 6 months of hire.
• Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, ER technician, LPN or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Acceptable phlebotomy training program.

Technical Skills:

Basic computer knowlege required.

License/Certification:

Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted for certification). Licensed Practical Nurse, License Advanced EMT and Licensed Paramedic are also accepted. If national certification then Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with the State of Nevada within 6 months of hire.

Other:

Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set.
