Job summary

The American Red Cross in Greensboro, NC is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our donor services team. No prior medical experience is required for paid training; phlebotomy experience is a plus.

You will support blood collection at our fixed site, ensure donor comfort, and follow safety procedures to help save lives through hospitals. Starting pay is $20.81 per hour with union representation, and the schedule features 4 x 10 hour shifts with weekends required monthly.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in a public setting.
• Current valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Physical requirements include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors, listen to their stories and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure collected blood meets goals and safety standards.
