Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Phlebotomist to support patient care with blood draws, specimen collection, and processing in a contract role.

You will label and centrifuge specimens, ensure accurate patient data, and handle transport to float locations such as Portland, Beaverton and Gresham, while maintaining compliance and a clean driving record.

Experience in pediatric and geriatric settings and specimen processing is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in phlebotomy or related field.
• Pediatric and geriatric experience preferred.
• Specimen processing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture.
• Label, centrifuge, and store specimens.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate patient information and test requisitions.
• Prepare specimens for transport to testing facilities.
• Follow physician orders and ensure 100% correct labeling.

Description:

Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples
