Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to the required temperature.
