Job summary

Sanford Health in the Upper Midwest is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood samples from patients with care and professionalism. You will explain procedures, collect data, and follow aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, certification as a phlebotomist, completion of a phlebotomy program, and BLS certification may be required. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 7:30 am–12:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. Certified phlebotomist needed for this position. Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
