Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking an evening phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. This role collects blood from adult and pediatric patients, processes specimens, and enters patient information into the computer system.

Drawing blood and preparing specimens in a fast-paced hospital setting requires attention to accuracy, safety, and patient care. 40 hours/week, evening shifts starting at 1pm with 8- or 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program preferred.
• BLS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood from adult and pediatric patients.
• Process blood and non-blood specimens; operate centrifuges.
• Enter patient information into the computer system and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in laboratory activities and prepare specimens as assigned.

Summary Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens.

Job Description Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.

Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred. Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
