Schedule: Monday/Thursday/Friday 7:30am-3:30pm, Tuesday/Wednesday 10:00am-6:00pm, no weekends or on-call!

Essential Functions

1. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to collect blood samples from patients.
2. Works independently, in a safe and appropriate manner in accordance with safety and organizational policies and procedures.
3. Demonstrates problem solving prevention skills equal to the expected level of responsibility for the job.
4. Assists with supply inventory.
5. May instruct phlebotomy procedure to new employees.
6. Understands and abides by all of the BSFHC infection control guidelines and safety procedures; know location and use of MSDS material and use of emergency equipment.
7. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
8. May require other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Current national certification (required for WA, CA and LA) in Phlebotomy from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Phlebotomy program with hands-on externship completed and passed; total online courses are not acceptable.
2. CPR (BLS for community/lay responder or Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer - the copy must include the front and back of card as applicable) Certification must include “hands-on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. Total online courses will not be accepted. Course must also meet the American Heart Association (AHA) standards but need not be an AHA certificate.
3. State Lab Certificate (NV only).
4. State Phlebotomy Tech Certification (CA, WA and LA).

Preferred Experience

• Six months to one year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare environment or satisfactory completion of an approved phlebotomy course and completion of 100 hours clinical experience.
