Job summary

Join TriHealth as a Phlebotomist at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, OH. You will collect high-quality specimens from patients of all ages, support diagnostic testing, and act as a liaison between the laboratory and our customers.

In addition to specimen collection, you may enter orders and assist with LIS/HIS processes to ensure timely results. This role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years' Experience in Phlebotomy (Preferred).
  • Phlebotomy Trained Upon Hire (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure specimen integrity and proper patient identification during collection.
  • Document information within required timeframes and ensure accuracy.
  • Understand the importance of accuracy in all steps of the collection process and complete tasks on time.
  • Handle complex tasks and take initiative when needed to support the lab team.
  • Follow safety, confidentiality, and sample integrity protocols during collection and processing.

Work Hours & Schedule:

  • Full time, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Day shift
  • Weekend and holiday rotation

Job Overview:

In-House: This position serves as a liaison for an extensive variety of laboratory customers. This position procures quality specimens from adult, geriatric, pediatric and infant patients for diagnostic testing according to CLIA, TJC and CAP guidelines and may perform EKGs on outpatients. This position makes/receives telephone calls to/from customers, gathers data required for service and billing, answers questions and resolves issues. This position also completes documentation to meet OIG compliance guidelines which includes accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry. This position may receive incoming specimens, enters patient demographics and test orders using LIS/HIS systems, labels specimens, and distributes them to the proper lab departments for testing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents all information as required in expected timeframes
  • Understands the importance of accuracy in all steps of the collection process and completes all work accurately and timely.
