Job summary

TriHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for full-time day shifts at Good Sam Arrow Springs Physician Visit. The role supports physicians in examination and treatment, takes vital signs, interviews patients, and prepares rooms for exams.

Cross-training enhances efficiency and continuity of care within a collaborative team. The position requires a High School Degree, BLS, EKG, injections, and venipuncture skills, plus up to 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• EKG experience or training.
• Injections and venipuncture skills required.
• Performance of common CLIA-based lab tests per TriHealth policies.
• Up to 1 year of physician office or related setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports physicians and clinical staff in patient care.
• Performs tests and specimens following proper procedures.
• Executes clinical tasks per hospital/department policies and standards.
• Maintains efficiency, organization, and time management to support patient care.
• Demonstrates courtesy and respect toward patients and team members; communicates abnormal results.
• Documents patient care accurately in charts and maintains confidentiality.
• Keeps exam rooms and supply areas clean and properly organized.

Job Overview

This position assists the physician in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of physician. This position also interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts, and prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. The position will be cross‑trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care; work cooperatively within the team concept demonstrating flexibility, motivation and commitment to quality patient care. This position’s tasks include patient related duties, medical record maintenance/documentation, and safety/environmental duties.

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)

• Up to 1 year experience in a physician office or related setting

Job Responsibilities

• Provides support to physicians/clinical staff.
• Skillfully performs/obtains tests and specimens assuring proper departmental procedures are followed
• Performs technical skills according to hospital's and department's policies/procedures, appropriate competencies, and accepted standards of practice.
• Maintains a high level of efficiency, organization, and time management skills to promote efficiency in the Medical Center. Shows the ability to function successfully with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates strong written, verbal and phone skills. Demonstrates courtesy, respect toward patients, professionals, and team members. Notifies appropriate team members of abnormal test results or emergent situations
• Accurately documents patient care in chart, maintains confidentiality of patient records and files appropriate documentation in patient chart
• Accurately and safely maintains general appearance and cleanliness of exam rooms, supply areas, and nurses station. Disposes of contaminated equipment and disposable supplies in accordance with infection control guidelines
