The Phlebotomist I is responsible for accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment. This role is part of a dynamic team, working in fast-paced hospital settings and high/low volume clinics. Caregivers will gain valuable experience to support career advancement.
Job Specifics:
The Phlebotomist I performs specimen collection using techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swabs. They collect from patients of varying acuities, including outpatient, emergency, inpatient, newborns, and ICU patients, adhering to laboratory standards and safety regulations.
Intermountain caregivers communicate procedures with empathy and have opportunities to develop skills in patient registration, CODE team participation, training, specimen processing, and other lab responsibilities.
This position requires organizational skills, proficiency with computer systems, teamwork, and maintaining a safe environment. Candidates should be resilient and capable of managing stressful situations professionally.
