Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI, is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to collect blood and specimens, explain procedures to patients, and document information accurately. You will follow asepsis protocols and safety rules to ensure patient safety during phlebotomy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a phlebotomy program, and BLS certification if available. Work schedule is 7 days on/off with day shifts, 10 am–8 pm, for Marsh Main.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and specimens from patients and explains procedures.
• Records and documents patient information accurately.

Job Summary

Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner. Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.

Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
