Sanford Health's Marsh Med Ctr Rice Lake is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join the clinical team in Rice Lake, WI. This role collects blood and other specimens, explains procedures to patients, and ensures safety and documentation compliance. The schedule is days, weekdays, with 25 hours weekly.

You will work under the Allied Health function, providing compassionate patient care and maintaining aseptic techniques per policy. Certification in phlebotomy is preferred; BLS may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified phlebotomist preferred.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program and experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• BLS certification may be required.

Job Summary

Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner. Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.


• Certified phlebotomist needed for this position.


• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.


• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
