Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Joliet, IL for full-time hours. You will perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients, collect specimens, and ensure proper labeling and processing in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires excellent patient interaction, attention to detail, and adherence to aseptic technique. Travel between sites may be required; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, and paid volunteer time off.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • National Phlebotomy Certification or eligible to sit for certification exams preferred.
  • Prior phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical terminology; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients using venipuncture or finger-stick.
  • Monitor collection supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Receive patients professionally and courteously, utilizing AIDET and creating a positive experience.
  • Access patient/testing information via computer systems and prepare paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, safe patient and working environment; perform other duties as assigned.

The Phlebotomist I presents a professional, courteous and respectful demeanor when engaging with patients, co-workers, other staff and general public.Depending on Practice Site Requirements, not all duties listed may be performed. However, it is expected MOST duties will be performed. Travel to other sites may be required.Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients by vascular access (venipuncture) or capillary collection (finger stick) using aseptic protocols, accurate patient identification and proper labeling procedures.Monitor phone and voice mail messages, as necessaryMonitor collection supply inventory and order supplies as necessaryReceive patients professionally and courteously utilizing AIDET and positive patient experience toolsPerform specimen centrifugation, processing, prepping for reference lab transportation, storage and retrievalUtilize computer skills to accurately access patient/testing information, as necessaryProduce patient demographic sheet and prepare additional paperwork to accompany specimens, as necessaryMaintain a clean patient and working environment.Perform other assigned duties, as needed.EducationHigh School graduate or equivalent requiredNational Phlebotomy Certification or qualified to sit for phlebotomy certification exam preferredPrior experience as a Phlebotomist OR an equivalent combination of graduation from a certified phlebotomy school coupled with work experience in a healthcare field preferred.Moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $17.65-26.50, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
