Job summary

Labcorp in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a phlebotomist to perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages. You will enter patient data accurately, prepare specimens, and maintain logs while delivering friendly, patient-centered service.

This role requires 1.5+ years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and potentially certification. You may travel to additional sites; some overtime may be required.

Job description

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Work Schedule

Standard shifts Monday–Thursday 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, Friday 9:00 AM–5:30 PM. Alternate schedules include nights and weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including specimen collection for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests.
• Enter patient data accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1.5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Job Standards

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or training from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Benefits

Employees scheduled 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and temporary employees are eligible only for the 401(k) Plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.75–$24.00 per hour. All job offers are based on skills and experience, and Phlebotomists may be eligible for the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
