Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• One year or more of phlebotomy experience
• Two years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting (preferred)
• Phlebotomy certification or training program from an accredited agency (in lieu of experience)
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
