Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is seeking a weekend shift, part-time Phlebotomist in Cushing, OK to join our laboratory team. You will perform specimen collection and support patient care in a community hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an accredited phlebotomy program with clinicals, and national certification. Experience in inpatient settings is preferred, with CPT, PBT, RPT, NCPT, or ACA certifications recognized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency (CPT, PBT, RPT, NCPT, or ACA).

• Performs specimen collection techniques (venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection) per protocols.

The Phlebotomist functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include; venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction and specimen culture collection instruction.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience
• Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to:
• National Heathcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA)
• American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP)
• American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Experience working in the inpatient clinical setting
