Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is the trusted partner of federal health agencies. This on-site role at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA focuses on phlebotomy across inpatient and outpatient settings with strict specimen handling.

You will identify patients, document results, and maintain patient privacy. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, Phlebotomy Certification, three years of phlebotomy experience, and an active BLS card.

• Identify patients prior to collection and ensure proper labeling.
• Protect electronic and paper patient information.
• Identify, document, and resolve collection or testing issues.
• Provide professional, patient-centered care to avoid complaints.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We currently have openings for a Phlebotomist. The work will be on-site at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• The contract personnel may work in multiple areas of the lab as determined by the needs of the service at that time and shall be responsible for providing the following service:
  • The contract employee will perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws.
• The contract employee will perform sample processing and send out preparation.
• As part of safety, positively identifies patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
• As part of safety and safeguards electronic and paper patient information.
• Identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.
• Assures patient-centered care and provides service in a manner that is professional and will avoid complaints from all stakeholders and customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy Certification
• Three (3) years of recent Phlebotomy experience
• Active BLS Card (AHA)
• Proven ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Ability to obtain public trust.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP, AMT, NHA or equivalent preferred.

The posted salary range represents PFS's good-faith estimate for this role. Actual compensation offered will be determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience;internal equity; geographic location; and contract and organizational requirements. SCA Salary Range: $24.24 / Hour + $5.42 H&W
