Job summary

Haiti Development Institute is seeking a Program Manager for Communications and Development to lead fundraising, branding, and philanthropic programs in support of Haiti-based initiatives.

You will work with the Executive Director to develop the fundraising strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and raise the organization’s visibility through compelling communications and targeted partnerships. Travel to Haiti may be required for donor engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in international development or policy.
• 3-5 years’ experience designing and leading programming in the developing world.
• Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
• Knowledge and experience in identifying and preparing grant applications with private and public institutional donors.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to translate analyses into insights.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in French and/or Haitian Creole preferred.
• Ability to travel to remote locations in Haiti up to 20-30% of the time.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to synthesize information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct the full range of fundraising/development activities: proposals, prospect research, targets and benchmarks, donor stewardship.
• Oversee communications and branding: social media, website, quarterly newsletter, annual report, online giving, media interviews, and partnerships.
• Plan and manage the Haiti Funders Conference: logistics, timeline, financing, sponsorships, and post-conference reporting.
• Collaborate with HDI staff and Executive Director to align program delivery with fundraising initiatives and to plan a Research and Data Center.
