Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette is hiring a Philanthropy Officer to grow mid-level and major gifts across the Mid-Willamette Valley, North Willamette Valley, and Washington County. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on building relationships with donors, developing strategies, and expanding PPCW's philanthropic pipeline.

You will collaborate with a regional Development team, travel within the service area, and represent PPCW at community events while guiding multi-year fundraising

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Philanthropy Officer to build meaningful donor relationships and grow philanthropic support throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley, North Willamette Valley, and Washington County.

You'll join a collaborative Development team committed to community-centric fundraising, strong donor relationships, and advancing PPCW's mission throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

About the Role

The Philanthropy Officer manages a dynamic portfolio of mid-level and major gift prospects and donors, building relationships that lead to increased philanthropic investment in PPCW's mission.

This is a highly relationship-focused role. You'll identify and qualify prospective donors, cultivate existing relationships, solicit major gifts, and steward supporters over time. You'll also serve as a visible representative of PPCW in the community, developing relationships with donors, volunteers, businesses, community leaders, and partner organizations.

A major focus of this position will be growing philanthropic support throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley, North Willamette Valley, and Washington County, including supporting multi-year and capital fundraising initiatives.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level and major gift prospects and donors
• Develop individualized strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors
• Build relationships that grow major gifts of $10,000+ and other significant philanthropic commitments
• Identify prospective supporters and expand PPCW's major donor pipeline through networking, referrals, research, and community engagement
• Meet regularly with donors and prospects throughout the region
• Represent PPCW at community, civic, philanthropic, and organizational events
• Partner with PPCW leadership, Board members, volunteers, and colleagues on donor cultivation and solicitation opportunities
• Support multi-year and capital fundraising campaigns through prospect development, donor engagement, and stewardship
• Create donor communications, proposals, stewardship materials, and personalized outreach
• Maintain accurate donor records and track relationship and fundraising activity

You’ll have significant ownership of relationships in your service area while working closely with a supportive Development team on broader organizational fundraising strategy.

Schedule & Location

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday, with flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend donor meetings and events.

This is a hybrid, regionally focused position serving the Mid-Willamette Valley, North Willamette Valley, and Washington County.

• Tuesday – On-site at our Salem Health Center offices
• Wednesday – On-site at our Salem Health Center offices

Other workdays may be performed remotely or in the community based on donor meetings, events, and business needs.

Regular travel throughout the assigned service area is an essential part of this position. Reliable transportation is required.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
• At least 4 years of professional major gift fundraising experience, including individual face-to-face solicitations in higher education, health care, social services, or a similar nonprofit environment
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and successfully solicit philanthropic gifts
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships, projects, and priorities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Comfort representing PPCW and discussing complex issues related to our mission with donors and community members
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
• Reliable transportation for regular regional travel

Nice to Have

• Experience with donor databases such as Raiser's Edge/NXT
• Experience with project-management tools such as Asana
• Established relationships or fundraising experience in the Willamette Valley
• Experience with community-centric fundraising

Pay

$75,004.80–$109,304 annually

Pay is based on experience and internal equity.
