Job summary

CSL in Springfield, MO seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility for plasma donation.

Under supervision, you’ll collaborate with the Center Medical Director, interpret test results, counsel for reactive findings, and escalate critical cases following SOPs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Foreign medical graduates must hold a current state license or EMT certification.
• New York applicants must hold active NY licensure or a reciprocal state license.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director and staff on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and assess donor symptoms affecting continued donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required.
