Job summary

CSL seeks a clinical professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.

You will interview donors, take medical histories, and determine eligibility to donate plasma, coordinating with the Center Medical Director on donor questions.

You will review test results, counsel on reactive findings, refer to community facilities for follow-up, and follow SOPs while escalating emergencies to the Center Physician.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT certification.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lungs, and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff according to licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and medically related questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to the Center Physician or local medical services.
