JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement the Individual Educational Plans (IEP) related tooccupational therapy services for all assigned students.
• Work with classroom teacher to coordinate students’ schedules for OTservices.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress in attaining IEP goals and objectives.
• Provide diagnostic and ongoing assessments of students and developOT goals that reflect the individual student needs.
• Utilize research-based, current, best practices in providing services to students.
• Encourage and monitor inclusive educational opportunities for special education students.
• Encourage parent involvement and education related to OT provided to students.
• Participate in District recommended professional development activities.
• Create and maintain a safe and orderly educational setting for students.
• Keep accurate and organized student records.
• Adhere to established timelines in completing required paperwork and scheduling meetings.
• Interact with students in a positive, appropriate, and supportive manner.
• Work cooperatively with the classroom teacher, paraprofessionals and other ancillary support staff to assist the students to achieve their IEP goals.
• Assume other responsibilities as determine by their supervising administrator.
• Conducts himself/herself n a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
• Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students, if needed.
