Job summary

Alfa Laval in Des Moines, IA is seeking an on-site technician to perform equipment receipt, inspection, repair, testing and packaging according to SOPs and safety guidelines.

You will disassemble PHEs, clean, rebuild to new standards, and handle gaskets and plates through various process steps, while maintaining clean work areas and following 5S standards. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience in a manual shop environment.
• Experience operating fork lift trucks, hand pallet jacks and overhead cranes, preferred.
• Able to use measuring devices (tape measure, depth micrometer) as required.
• Good hand eye coordination.
• Flexible, Team Player.
• Clocking in and out, scanning bar codes, taking photos.

Responsibilities

• Receives, counts, verifies, labels and stores all parts.
• Disassembles and inspects components per procedures.
• Disassembles and inspects using prescribed methods (e.g., dyes penetrations).
• Cleans units and performs painting as specified.
• Installs gaskets and assembles per drawings.
• Ensures work area compliance with 5S standards.
• Performs shipping/receiving duties and assists in customer equipment handling.
