Job summary

Procter & Gamble seeks a PhD intern for a 12-week project in Corporate Function R&D at the Mason, Ohio site. You will extend the usable lifespan of advanced skin models through literature review, experimental design, and hands-on work with ex vivo and in vitro skin systems.

Under technical coaches, you will develop an improved model and assess chronic effects in a translational skin science context, aiming for clear protocols for team-wide use. May/June to August 2027, in-person internship.

Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a PhD in biology or biochemistry with a focus in skin biology and physiology.
• Hands-on mammalian tissue culture experience and aseptic technique.
• Ability to design controlled experiments and define quantitative endpoints.
• Strong scientific writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review published approaches for extending viability of ex vivo and in vitro skin models.
• Design and conduct controlled studies starting from current internal models.
• Monitor skin health metrics over time and interpret results.
• Develop protocols and recommendations for broader team use.
