Job summary

Procter & Gamble invites PhD students to join a 12-week Research & Development internship in Mason, focusing on computational modeling of polymer systems and materials design. You will collaborate with experimental scientists and modelers to explore structure–property relationships and practical design insights.

The internship runs from May/early June to August 2027, is in-person at Mason Business Center, and pays a 12-week stipend with opportunities for professional growth within P&G’s R&D

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in a relevant field (Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Soft Matter Physics).
• Experience with polymer physics, soft materials, molecular simulation or multiscale modeling is preferred.
• Python programming required; familiarity with simulation packages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess computational approaches for polymer science and soft materials.
• Develop and run demonstration simulations using multiscale modeling.
• Compare model outputs with experimental data and advise design decisions.
