Job summary

Waymo LLC, Mountain View, is offering a hybrid onsite internship on the Predictive Planning team. You will research, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art models for planning and predictions and collaborate with ML researchers to deploy insights for the Waymo Driver.

Requirements: PhD candidate in CS, ML, or robotics; experience with transformers and reinforcement learning; hands-on with TensorFlow, JAX, or PyTorch and Python; strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field
• Experience with Transformers architecture and reinforcement learning
• Hands-on experience with modern deep learning libraries (eg: TensorFlow, JAX, Pytorch) with basic programming skills (eg: Python)
• Strong analytical and debugging skills

Responsibilities

• Research, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art models for planning and predictions
• Analysis of results in both open-loop and closed-loop
• Conduct machine learning experiments using JAX and Python
• Collaborate within and across teams, and present conclusions/insights clearly
