Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Machine Learning intern to contribute to cutting-edge research and real-world ML systems. Interns conduct research across areas such as image recognition, recommender systems, NLP, and big data analytics, with mentorship and exposure to production pipelines.

You’ll work on projects from start to finish, explore AI-native tooling, and collaborate with engineers and researchers across Pinterest offices in the US.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in CS, ML, NLP, or related field.
• Experience with ML research and experimentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML research projects from concept to implementation.
• Work on production ML systems including training and deployment.
• Experiment with frontier AI tools and agents.
• Validate AI outputs with tests, reviews, and reasoning.
