Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking doctoral-level Predictive/Statistical Modeling Interns for Summer 2027 at our Fairfield, OH headquarters. This internship targets students who have earned a bachelor’s degree and are currently enrolled in a PhD program in a quantitative field.

You will work with a skilled modeling/actuarial team to learn the properties of pricing, underwriting, and claims analytics, and to develop predictive models that may inform future business decisions.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a doctoral (PhD) program in a quantitative field.
• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, engineering, actuarial science, or related quantitative field.
• Collegiate transcripts required (unofficial acceptable).
• Cumulative GPA: 3.0+ preferred.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Experience with Excel, Python, R and/or SAS; knowledge of regression and ML models.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and maintenance of multivariate pricing and underwriting models for personal and business insurance.
• Assist with development and maintenance of claims analytic models.
• Conduct research for predictive modeling opportunities and potential future use.
• Assist with model deployment and delivery of results.
• Interact with actuaries and management across departments (Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Claims, IT).
