Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies’ Pricing & Predictive Analytics and Corporate Actuarial departments are seeking doctoral-level Predictive/Statistical Modeling Interns. This role is for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree and are currently enrolled in a PhD program, with Summer 2027 experience at our Fairfield, OH headquarters.

You will work with experienced professionals to learn about property/casualty actuarial work, build models, and contribute to the modeling and analytics team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a doctoral (PhD) program in a quantitative field
• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, engineering, actuarial science, or related quantitative field
• Collegiate transcripts required (unofficial acceptable)
• Cumulative GPA 3.0+ preferred
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
• Experience with Excel, Python, R, and/or SAS
• Familiarity with regression and machine learning models
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and maintenance of multivariate pricing and underwriting models for personal and business insurance
• Assist with development and maintenance of claims analytic models
• Conduct research and development for predictive models
• Assist with model deployment and delivery of results
• Interact with actuaries and management
• Collaborate across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Claims, and IT
