Venable LLP's Intellectual Property Litigation Group seeks an associate to join our team in the New York or Washington, DC office. We are open to candidates across a range of experience levels, from junior through senior associates.

The qualified candidate possesses a Ph.D. in Chemistry and experience working with sophisticated technologies involving pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry required.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school required.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant local Bar.
• Experience with patent litigation is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical and legal analyses of patents and literature to support litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and consultants on life sciences matters.
• Assist with development of litigation strategy and case preparation.
• Draft and review briefs, motions, discovery, and other filings.
• Participate in patent litigation matters in U.S. district courts and PTAB proceedings.
• Engage in client development and firm activities.
