Venable LLP is seeking an associate for our Intellectual Property Litigation Group in New York or Washington, DC. The position welcomes candidates across experience levels, from junior through senior associates, with a strong emphasis on life sciences technologies.

The successful candidate will hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and be in good standing with the local Bar.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and writing skills for technical and legal analyses.
• Experience presenting complex life sciences topics to diverse audiences is a plus.
• Active engagement with litigation teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical and legal analyses of patents, literature, and prior art for litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and consultants on life sciences matters.
• Assist with development of litigation strategy and case preparation.
• Draft and review briefs, motions, discovery, and other filings.
• Support patent litigation in U.S. district courts and before the PTAB.
• Participate in client development initiatives and firm activities.
