Job summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking an experienced NDT PAUT Technician for projects in Atlanta, GA, with travel across the United States. You will perform phased array ultrasonic inspections, set up equipment, interpret data, and prepare reports, ensuring safety and quality compliance.

The role requires Level II/III PAUT certification, field PAUT experience, and the ability to read codes and drawings. Extensive travel, overtime, and site work are expected, with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Current Level II or Level III PAUT certification required.
• Previous PAUT field experience required.
• Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for PAUT.
• Prior certification as an UTSW NDE Level II with one year experience or Level II per SNT-TC1A on PAUT/UTSW.
• Strong understanding of ultrasonic testing principles and advanced NDT techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret codes, standards, isometrics, and technical drawings.
• Experience with corrosion mapping, weld inspections, and encoded scans preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the U.S.

Job description

MISTRAS Group is currently seeking an experienced Temp OR Full Time NDT PAUT Technician for projects based in Atlanta, GA, as well as travel assignments throughout the United States. Candidates will perform advanced ultrasonic inspections using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) methods in accordance with industry codes, procedures, and customer requirements.

Position Summary

NDT PAUT Technician will be responsible for performing inspections, interpreting data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in industrial and field environments.

• Work overtime, weekends, shutdowns, and outage schedules when necessary

Requirements

• Current Level II or Level III PAUT certification required
• Previous PAUT field experience required
• Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for one or all of the following is required: PAUT
• Prior certification as an UTSW NDE Level II with one (1) year experience or prior certification as Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on all or one (1) of the following is required; Phased Array, UTSW
• Strong understanding of ultrasonic testing principles and advanced NDT techniques
• Ability to read and interpret codes, standards, isometrics, and technical drawings
• Experience with corrosion mapping, weld inspections, and encoded scans preferred
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the U.S.

Preferred Requirements

• Additional NDT certifications (UT, MT, PT, RT, VT, TOFD) preferred
• Experience in refinery, petrochemical, aerospace, manufacturing, pipeline, or power generation industries
