Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking a Level II PAUT Technician for a full-time position based in the Austin, TX area with travel ~50%.

Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating equipment, performing Phased Array inspections, and interpreting and documenting results. Candidates must hold Level II PAUT certification and be willing to work with trainees and Level I staff under established codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Level II PAUT certification required (manual and encoded PAUT).
  • Level II AUT, MT/PT, and VT or API 570 preferred.
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT program meeting SNT-TC1A for PAUT.
  • Prior Level II certification per SNT-TC1A in PAUT/UTSW is required.
  • TWIC and valid driver’s license required.

Job description

MISTRAS Group, Inc. has an immediate need for a Level II PAUT Technician local to Austin, TX or surrounding areas for a full-time position. Must be willing to travel ~50% of the time.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
  • Set up and calibrate equipment.
  • Conduct tests with appropriate NDT technique: Phased Array
  • Interpret, evaluate and document results.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
  • Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
  • Must be willing to travel 50+% of the time.
  • Other assignments/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
  • Level II PAUT (manual and encoded PAUT required)
  • Level II AUT
  • Level II MT, PT
  • Level II VT or API 570 preferred
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for one or all of the following is required: PAUT
  • Prior certification as an UTSW NDE Level II with one (1) year experience or prior certification as Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on all or one (1) of the following is required; Phased Array, UTSW
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • TWIC
  • Valid Driver’s License
